Our Commitment to Inclusion, Diversity & Equity
Sherwin-Williams has long been committed to inclusion, diversity and equity in its business and communities we serve. We have extended this commitment to our Building Our Future project, which includes a new global headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio and a new global R&D center in Brecksville, Ohio. You can view our approach to driving economic inclusion and workforce diversity in the Building Our Future project at the PDF below.
Our thoughtful and deliberate approach to providing opportunities for businesses owned by underrepresented groups to participate in this project is already delivering results. Our inclusion, diversity and equity plan offers opportunities for minority-owned, women-owned and small businesses.
The Building Our Future project includes meeting or exceeding robust economic inclusion requirements. As of August 2023, Sherwin-Williams project designs continue to evolve. Given the related increased construction costs we are pleased to share that the supplier dollar commitment has increased from $225M to $258M. The project requirements and contracts awarded to date are shown below:
Community Engagement
Sherwin-Williams is committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, diversity and equity in our organization and we are extending this commitment to the construction of our new facilities. We have been working proactively with the cities of Cleveland and Brecksville and county and state leaders, along with community leaders and trade partners to identify and create opportunities for minority-owned, female-owned and small businesses to participate.
