Heidi G. Petz became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sherwin-Williams in January 2024, and in January 2025, she also assumed the role of Chair of the Board. She is the tenth CEO in the company’s 160-year history.
Prior to her appointment as Chief Executive Officer, she served as the Chief Operating Officer from 2022 to 2024. She has also served as President of the Paint Stores Group and President of the Consumer Brands Group. Ms. Petz joined Sherwin-Williams in 2017 following the acquisition of Valspar Corporation.
In addition to her executive roles, Ms. Petz serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Richmond and the Board of Directors of University Hospitals Health System in Cleveland. She is also active with the American Coatings Association and serves on the Policy Advisory Board of the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University.
Ms. Petz holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Leadership from the University of Richmond and a master’s of Business Administration from Loyola University Maryland.
