Building Our Future: A New Chapter for Sherwin-Williams in Northeast Ohio

For more than 160 years, Sherwin-Williams has grown from a small operation on the banks of the Cuyahoga River into a global leader in paints and coatings. Throughout that journey, we’ve remained deeply rooted in Northeast Ohio – and committed to building a future that reflects our values, our people and our purpose.

 

In 2019, we announced plans to invest in the next generation of our workplace in an initiative called Building Our Future. In 2021 and 2022, we broke ground on two transformative projects: a new global headquarters in downtown Cleveland and a new research and development center now known as the Morikis Global Technology Center, in Brecksville, a suburb of Cleveland.

Together, these facilities represented a minimum construction investment of $860 million in Northeast Ohio and bring more than 4,000 employees together in spaces designed to support collaboration, innovation and growth. The multi-year construction effort culminated in 2025, when teams began moving into both campuses and writing the next chapter of the Sherwin-Williams story.
