Spaces Designed to Reflect Our Legacy, Our Brand and Our Future

The Global Headquarters in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, and Morikis Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio, were designed as more than new buildings. Together, they represent a long-term investment in how Sherwin-Williams works, innovates and grows – spaces shaped by intention, collaboration and a deep connection to our brand and heritage.

From the earliest concepts, the Building Our Future initiative was guided by a clear objective: to create environments that support people, performance and progress, while standing as enduring symbols of who we are and where we’re headed.

Architecture Driven by Intent

Every architectural decision across both locations was rooted in purpose. Rather than designing for a moment in time, the Global Headquarters and Morikis Global Technology Center were designed as flexible, future-ready environments – able to evolve alongside our business, our teams‑ and the ways we work.

At headquarters, the design reinforces connection – to the city, to each other and to our history. The 36-floor tower rises as a new icon on the Cleveland skyline. The building blends modern form with timeless function – a mix of open, light-filled workspaces, flexible meeting areas and inviting common spaces that encourage movement and create opportunities for collaboration and connection. The adjacent, two-story pavilion serves as a welcoming front door to Public Square, anchoring Sherwin-Willliams firmly in the heart of downtown Cleveland, the city we’ve called home for more than 160 years.

The Morikis Global Technology Center was purpose-built to accelerate innovation. The campus brings research, development and technology teams together in a setting designed to foster interaction, experimentation and the exchange of ideas – creating an environment where innovation can thrive. With spaces that include modular research areas, thoughtfully designed work cafés and training areas, grouped together throughout the building, the campus brings together hundreds of scientists, engineers and technicians in one unified environment. The building’s layout encourages cross-functional collaboration, supports advanced coatings research and provides room to grow as our business evolves.

Collaborative Design Partnerships

These projects were the result of close collaboration between Sherwin-Williams and a team of architectural and design partners who worked alongside Company leaders, subject‑ matter experts‑ and employees throughout the process.

Together, they translated workplace strategy, brand values and functional requirements into physical spaces – balancing form and function, and aesthetics and performance. The result is architecture that feels intentional and cohesive across both locations, while responding to the unique role each building plays within the Company.

Interior Design as Brand Expression: Color and Materials

Inside both buildings, interior design plays a critical role in bringing the Sherwin-Williams brand to life. Color, materiality, light and texture were carefully considered –not as decoration, but as tools to shape experience, support wayfinding and create environments that feel inspiring and human.

From collaborative spaces and gathering areas to moments of pause and focus, interiors were designed to reflect creativity, craftsmanship and pride. Branded installations and architectural features reinforce our culture and celebrate the people behind the Company’s success, creating spaces that feel distinctly Sherwin-Williams.

Showcasing Our Own Products: A Living Portfolio of Performance

Using Sherwin-Williams products throughout both buildings was a deliberate choice. Across finishes, coatings, flooring and surfaces, the Global Headquarters and the Morikis Global Technology Center showcase the breadth and performance of our portfolio in real-world applications.

Rather than serving as a showroom, these spaces demonstrate how our products perform at scale – supporting durability, sustainability and design intent across a wide range of environments. It’s a tangible expression of our confidence in what we make and a source of pride for the teams who develop and deliver those solutions every day.

Telling Our Story Through Art

Artwork throughout both locations was curated with the same intention as the architecture itself. Rather than decorative accents, these pieces were selected and commissioned to reflect our heritage, celebrate innovation and honor the people who make Sherwin-Williams what it is today.

From large-scale installations to curated pieces by local and national artists, the artwork reflects our values, our people and our deep connection to color, creativity and community. These pieces were thoughtfully selected to inspire, energize and reflect the spirit of Sherwin-Williams.

Installations highlight milestones in our history, recognize achievements across the Company and create moments of connection within the space. Employee-inspired pieces and signature elements serve as lasting reminders that these buildings were shaped by the people who use them – embedding personal stories into the fabric of the architecture.

Together, the artwork creates a narrative thread that connects past, present and future, reinforcing a shared sense of identity across our Global Headquarters and the Morikis Global Technology Center.
